Trip report: Musselburgh and Aberlady Bay, 16th March 2008 · Derek Charlton · Added 26 March 2008
We had another good turn-out on this trip, with 36 members making the journey. Musselburgh was by far the better of the two areas. A couple of hours here absolutely flew by, with around 20 Velvet Scoters, 7-8 Slavonian Grebes and a couple of stunning Long-tailed Ducks seen. Dozens of Gannets passed by, and we had close views of Bar-tailed Godwits, Razorbills, Grey Plovers, Red-breasted Mergansers, Goldeneye and Dunlin.
By the time we reached Aberlady the weather was beautiful, and here we saw Buzzards, Stonechats, Short-eared Owls and many Roe Deer.
All in all another very pleasant and enjoyable trip.
