Seaham-Dawdon

Some indication of early migrants/post-breeding dispersal after SE winds and rain day before - lesser whitethroat, 2 blackcap, 3 willow warbler, 4 chiffchaff, marsh tit, 2 goldcrest and grey wagtail. Good numbers in harbour at high tide - 7 species of wader, common and sandwich terns plus 4 species of gull and a kingfisher. 2 roseate terns flew south plus wigeon, teal and scoter.

great species selection there - still massively under watched, despite good local facilities for day tripping birders. talk about a coastal area with untapped potential !
