Fat bird of the Barley

Becoming a rare treat for us nowadays.

This male was showy while singing from 5 scattered perches against 2 distant rivals & occasionally, along with its mate, dropping down into a bird-seed plot, carrying food items (presumably to young in the nest?).

Very inconspicuous when it stopped singing.

Most probably the most northerly regular breeding site in England.......

Hello everyone I was wondering if anyone could give me some help and advice on a camera for my grandson . We live in Jarrow and do most of our bird watching around the burn at boldon. Even though he's only 6 he loves anything to do with wildlife but especially birds, any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.
